The certification targets all product quality supervision and inspection agencies and other types of laboratories that provide fair data to society; Such as various product quality supervision and inspection stations, environmental testing stations, disease prevention and control centers, and so on.

Testing institutions that have obtained metrological certification certificates are allowed to use the CMA mark on their inspection reports; Inspection reports marked with CMA can be used for product quality evaluation, results, and judicial appraisal, and have legal effect.

The country is implementing mandatory metrological certification, review and accreditation, and voluntary participation in laboratory accreditation to ensure the fairness, scientificity, and authority of testing institutions in providing services to society. These certifications are based on laws such as the National Metrology Law, Standardization Law, and Quality Law.

This job is a technical law enforcement supervision work. Any testing institution that has been certified by the national metrology administrative department will be awarded the CMA metrology certification mark by the state, which can be affixed to the upper left corner of the testing report.

Basic content:

1. CMA stands for China Inspection Body and Laboratory Mandatory Approval. Testing institutions that have obtained laboratory qualification certification (metrological authentication) certificates may use the CMA mark on their testing certificates and reports according to the approved items listed on the certificate.

2. In 2001, the country promulgated the "Evaluation Criteria for Metrological Certification/Examination and Accreditation (Acceptance) (Trial)", which came into effect on December 1 of the same year and abolished the original evaluation criteria JJG1021-90. The evaluation system followed by metrological certification is the "Laboratory Qualification Accreditation Review Criteria", which also supplements the provisions of China's metrological legal management.

3. The laboratory qualification certification (metrological authentication) is implemented in two levels. One is at the national level, organized and implemented by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration; The other is at the provincial level, organized and implemented by the provincial quality and technical supervision bureau, and the specific work is undertaken by the Metrology Certification Office (Metrology Department). Whether it is at the national or provincial level, the effectiveness of implementation is completely consistent. Whether it is national or provincial certification, the testing institutions that have passed the certification are equally legally valid nationwide, and there is no difference in effectiveness among different departments.

4. According to the regulations on metrological certification management, data issued by testing institutions that have passed metrological certification have legal effect as notarized data for trade certification, product quality evaluation, and achievement appraisal. Providing notarized data to society by technical institutions without metrological certification is illegal and will be prosecuted.
