The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) have designated the international theme for this year's World Accreditation Day as "Accreditation: Supporting the Future of Global Trade".
World Accreditation Day is a common holiday for countries around the world to promote and advance certification, accreditation, inspection, and testing work. To promote the widespread development of certification, accreditation, inspection and testing worldwide, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) have jointly designated June 9th as "World Accreditation Day". Every year around World Recognition Day, countries around the world carry out relevant promotional activities.
Internationalization is an important feature of accreditation systems. The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) are two major international accreditation organizations that aim to strengthen the coordination and consistent implementation of international standards and institutional rules for conformity assessment, promote the international recognition of conformity assessment results, reduce duplicate conformity assessments in trade, and facilitate international trade by establishing and operating a global accreditation multilateral mutual recognition system. The vision of IAF and ILAC is "one accreditation, one inspection, testing and certification, globally recognized". IAF/ILAC currently has member institutions from over 120 countries and economies, which account for approximately 96% of the global economy, forming a widely recognized global network. At present, IAF and ILAC member accreditation bodies have accredited over 12000 certification bodies, 85000 laboratories, 13000 inspection agencies, 600 proficiency testing providers, and 200 standard substance/sample producers worldwide. The scope of the multilateral mutual recognition agreement between IAF/ILAC and its recognized regional accreditation cooperation organizations includes various accreditation systems such as management system certification, product certification, personnel certification, verification, testing, calibration, inspection, capability verification, and standard substance production, jointly providing global quality solutions for sustainable economic and environmental development.
