CCC certification, also known as China Compulsory Certification, is a mandatory product certification in China. It is a product qualification assessment system implemented in accordance with laws and regulations in China to protect consumer personal safety and national security, strengthen product quality management.

According to Announcement No. 18 of 2020 by the State Administration for Market Regulation on the Catalogue of Compulsory Product Certification, a total of 103 types of products in 17 categories, including wires and cables, circuit switches and protective or connecting electrical devices, low-voltage electrical appliances, low-power motors, lighting appliances, etc., are included in the scope of national CCC compulsory certification. The quality of these products is closely related to consumer personal safety.

3C certification process

Certification application type test initial factory inspection certification result evaluation and approval supervision after certification. The frequency of post certification supervision (annual review) is generally once a year, and once every six months for toy categories.

The 3C certification cycle is generally around 2 months.

The State Administration for Market Regulation organized a spot check on the validity of CCC certification, involving various household appliances such as rice cookers, electric hot pot, electric fans, and induction cookers. For unqualified products, the certification agency is required to suspend or revoke their CCC certificate in a timely manner. At the same time, we will increase the supervision of CCC certification agencies and focus on conducting special inspections on designated certification agencies and laboratories in the field of household appliances such as indoor heaters.

In terms of guiding local certification supervision, the State Administration for Market Regulation has issued relevant notices, requiring local market supervision departments to strengthen certification market supervision and severely crack down on certification violations. At the same time, compile the "Certification Supervision Training Textbook" and distribute it to grassroots market supervision departments to promote the improvement of grassroots certification supervision capabilities.

The State Administration for Market Regulation stated that it will strengthen the supervision of mandatory product certification for household appliances, further urge CCC certification implementation agencies to strictly control the quality of certification, and resolutely refuse to issue certificates for products that do not meet certification requirements. In addition, we will strengthen the supervision of major events during and after the event, conduct regular special inspections of CCC certification implementation agencies, continue to organize spot checks on the effectiveness of CCC certified product certification, and guide local market supervision departments to crack down on unlicensed products.
