Lamp aging test
2021.04.11Test Project

The aging test mainly refers to the thermal oxidative aging test conducted on rubber, plastic products, electrical insulation materials, and other materials; Or conduct ventilation aging tests for electronic components and plasticized products. The aging test is divided into temperature aging, sunlight irradiation aging, loading aging, and so on. High temperature aging is generally carried out in several levels. For industrial applications, it is usually carried out at 70 degrees Celsius for 4 hours, and at 15 degrees Celsius for one level. There are generally several levels of aging, including 40 degrees Celsius, 55 degrees Celsius, 70 degrees Celsius, and 85 degrees Celsius, and the time is usually 4 hours.

According to the number of aging test products, there are three methods for testing

The life test is conducted in the laboratory to simulate various usage conditions. In order to shorten the test time without changing the failure mechanism, the accelerated life test is conducted by increasing the stress. The brightness of LED light may experience a decrease in intensity or brightness with prolonged operation. The degree of device aging is related to the size of the external constant current source. The actual measurement of LED lifespan takes a long time, so it is necessary to conduct accelerated aging testing methods.

There are usually three methods for calculating the lifespan of LEDs:

1. Extrapolation method for ordinary condition experiments

2. Temperature Accelerated Life Test Method

3. Current Accelerated Life Test Method

The purpose of lifespan aging testing is to determine the light color performance of a product after its claimed lifespan. What are the methods and parameters for lifespan aging testing of finished lamps?

Finished lamp lifespan aging test parameters:

1. Color retention rate: The deviation between the color coordinates and the initial color coordinates after the light is turned on for a period of time (e.g. 3000 hours, 6000 hours).

2. Luminous maintenance rate: the ratio of the luminous flux to the initial luminous flux after a period of time (e.g. 3000hr, 6000hr) when the lamp is lit.
